New version 2.6 : Introducing a new feature for the keyboard section


With this new version you will be able to send a message to the Television as a  notification (as in the below picture).

It is available for the users that unlocked the full version and on supported models.
You can give it a try in the standard version!

This version is also fixing the inputs selection button that was not working on some TV models

Update 2.5 - Application Launcher !


In this version Windows phone users can finally now enjoy as well the application launcher of the android version !

It is allowing to start rapidely any application installed on the Television ! A new icon will appear on the main screen to give access to this new screen. Once the application is selected it will start automatically on the television




It is unlocked in the ad-free version of the application else it is available in a demo mode.
In this mode it is possible to try it twice in order to make sure that your television is compatible  if you decide to unlock it later!

LG WebOS TV Remote - Privacy Policy



For your information please find below the privacy policy for this application.

What information is the application collecting and how is it used ?

The application is collecting informations allowing it to provide its basic functionalities. They are stored only on the phone and never shared/transmitted :

- The Television IP Address : it is used in order to connect to the television
- The recently selected channel(s) on the remote (name and ID) : it is used in order to allow the user to directly go to channel it viewed recently
- The application(s) installed on the Television (name and ID) (note: this information is not even saved locally on the phone) : it is used in order to allow the user to launch an application installed on the TV directly from the application

The user has the possibility to send an email to the support email (same as the email in the contact section below). So the sender email will be known by the support contact. This email will only be used to reply back to the sender and not used for other purpose nor transferred.

The application is using Google Admob , PubCenter and Ad Duplex services in order to display advertisements in the non-unlocked version of the application.

How do i remove the informations ?

The recently selected channels option can be set to 0 if the user does not want any channel to be saved on the phone. They can also remove the IP address present in the option if they don’t want it to be saved.

Update 2.4 - Now availabe on the Store (fix for the saving of the recently viewed channels)

The list of channel recently viewed was not saved/loaded in the previous version.
(This was unfortunally only seen in the version downloaded from the Store and not when tested locally)

This should be fixed now in this current release.

Update 2.3 - "most recent channels", design changes, improvments and fix for the bright theme!


A new version is now available on the Store (2.3) for download!


Most recent channels

Now when you will select a channel you will see on top of the list the "most recent selected channels". That way it will be quicker for you to go back to one of them! The number of channels is selectable in the options if required.





Design change and help improvments

 

There is also now a cleaner and simpler design for the connection and options screens.
I have also added additional ways for you to find help and tutorials showing how to activate lg connect apps and find the TV IP.



Fix for the bright theme users!

 

As fixes, if you are using the windows phone bright theme you will now be able to use the application : the buttons , icons will no longer show as dark/black!

Bigger touchpad

 

As improvments, based on your feedbacks i have enlarged the touchpad and relocated the power off button (so you dont press on it accidently).  You will anyway now need to confirm as well.

LG WebOS TV Remote : What else to check and try if you still cannot connect

If you cannot connect to the Television and tried already what was indicated here then this might interest you.

One additional step is to check if your phone can find the TV on your network via another application for windows phone. This way if this also does not work it might not be related the application but to your network or network configuration of your phone and/or tv.

There are free application you can use in order to check this on the Store.


One of them is "Admin Tools", you can find on the store.

After you download it go in "Ping" and enter in the first box the IP for the TV .
Under TCP port put 3000 and tap on "Check port".

It should return you Port is open like on the screen above

If not please verify your network settings, specially on your router, phone and TV

This helped a lot recently as from one day to another the connection was not working anymore with the TV. I had everytime to reboot my phone... very annoying..

I figured out that it happened since i change my router. The new one is a dual band and i was suspecting the connection to fail once the TV and the phone were on a different band (even if it should not be the case).

Since i disabled one of a the band, the connection is working all of the time. (i use connect by IP).
