Feature opened to vote : joystick arrows addition to the touchpad screen

I would want to add a new feature for the Touchpad.


It will be about adding a left, up, right and down buttons on each side of the Touchpad area.

This will allow you to browse faster within your application and menu without switching to the joypad screen. The downside is that the touchpad area will be smaller.

LG webOS TV Remote : most common problems and their solutions

I have an error when trying to connect using "Search" but not always.

Unfortunally it can happen that sometimes the Search does not find the TV. You will then need to retry clicking on Search again. Else you can specify the TV IP (see further below).

If you have errors when trying to connect to the TV

Make sure that your TV is running under webOS and is an LG Television.
Some old LG televisions are running under SmartTV and are not compatible.

If you are using "Search" : please verify if Universal Plug&Play (uPNP) is activated for your network (it is usually configured on your router/modem).

Check if your TV and your phone are connected to the same Wifi network.

Verify if "LG Connect" Apps is turned on on your TV. You will find it in the TV Settings, under Network. Click on "LG Connect Apps" and make sure that "ON" is showing on top. Else click on the "OFF" button in order to make it "ON".

Please also be aware that if you just turned on the TV it might take like 1 minute before it can start to be controlled by a smartphone.

If you want to try connecting by specifying the TV IP address be aware that depending on your network setup, this one may change regularly. You can find your TV IP under the Settings menu , Network, Wifi connection, Advanced settings, It is the serie of 4 numbers separated by dots ex 192.168.0.14. Enter this under the IP box in the options and in the main screen use "IP".

If this does not work still please restart your phone and power off and power on your TV and try again.

Do this check in order to verify if the issue could be simply linked to your network.

If you tried all the above solutions try desinstalling and reinstalling the application.

Can i turn on the TV with the application?

Please use the normal remote. Turning on the TV via any smartphone is not possible as you need to have the TV running for the application to connect. (current limitation of webOS / TV).

When i press on some keys nothing happens (ex PROGRAM  or any key on the numpad ..)

Please check if those keys are working on the normal remote. Depending on the source being used some functions might not be available.

The remote keyboard is not working

The remote keyboard feature is only working with the normal TV on screen keyboard below. If another one like an application specific one (ex Youtube LG Store App), this will not be supported.

You can activate the "auto switch to keyboard" in the application options. Once it will be possible to enter text the keyboard will appear automatically.

The central =>* (channe list) button on the volume screen is always deactivated,i cannot click on it

If no supported channels were found the button will stay deactivated.

LG WebOS Remote ! First update

The first update is ready to be rolled-out in the next couple of weeks!

 

The main changes are:

 

• a totally new design !

I am integrating browing to mouse, keyboard, main controls, joystick by just swipping left and right with your thumb on the screen

 

Bigger keys for improved usability!

• I am also implementing also few change requests i received so far like having the touchpad scrollbars put on the right of the touchpad

• Severals translations are also being implemented : Russian, Polish, French, Italian .... Done my native speakers but in case of issues let me know

 

And you will be finally able to thanks me directly from the application !

LG-LB670V Remote - Télécommander votre télévision LG !

J'ai récemment acheté une des nouvelles télévisions WebOS de LG : la LB670V.

 

Cette TV peut être contrôlée à distance avec un smartphone. Vous devriez donc en théorie pouvoir changer le volume, les chaines et plus encore avec votre téléphone. Les applications LG disponibles ne sont pour le moment seulement disponibles pour iPhone et Android mais pas pour Windows Phone.

 

Je viens de terminer le développent d'une application pour Windows Phone 8 qui est désormais disponible gratuitement sur le Store.

 

Son nom est : LG LB670V Remote

 

Pour l'instant elle supporte:

• Des fonctions standard et avancées (volume, chaine , media player, clavier numérique,  accès direct au Navigateur Internet, ..)
• Souris(pointeur) : controler la souris avec votre téléphone
• Clavier distant : utiliser le clavier de votre telephone à la place de celui affiché à l'écran

L'application a été développée principalement pour le model 670. Mais si elle fonctionne sur la vôtre merci de le me faire savoir (normalement elle devrait fonctionner au moins sur les autres modèles 650 et 630).

 

Pour soumettre des avis, demande de support, idées merci de poster un commentaire. Pour avoir une réponse personnalisée merci de renseigner également votre email (celle-ci ne sera pas rendue publique).

C# WPF - MessageBox.Show() is called but no message is displayed on the screen

If your code is using MessageBox.Show, and using breakpoints you see that the function is executed but no message are shown on the Phone you migh try the following :

• Be sure using right click > show definition that it is pointing to the System.Windows.MessageBox version of the object
• That this is present in your usings list : using System.Windows;

If this is still not working, specially if boxes that previously working are not working anymore you might need to simply restart your Phone, this solved the issue for me.

I dont know the exact reason behind this thought.
