LG WebOS TV Remote : What else to check and try if you still cannot connect

If you cannot connect to the Television and tried already what was indicated here then this might interest you.

One additional step is to check if your phone can find the TV on your network via another application for windows phone. This way if this also does not work it might not be related the application but to your network or network configuration of your phone and/or tv.

There are free application you can use in order to check this on the Store.

One of them is "Admin Tools", you can find on the store.

After you download it go in "Ping" and enter in the first box the IP for the TV .
Under TCP port put 3000 and tap on "Check port".

It should return you Port is open like on the screen above

If not please verify your network settings, specially on your router, phone and TV

This helped a lot recently as from one day to another the connection was not working anymore with the TV. I had everytime to reboot my phone... very annoying..

I figured out that it happened since i change my router. The new one is a dual band and i was suspecting the connection to fail once the TV and the phone were on a different band (even if it should not be the case).

Since i disabled one of a the band, the connection is working all of the time. (i use connect by IP).

Fix V2.2.1

In order to attempt fixing the crash issue following the 2.2 update i have released a new version today.

Once the initial connection to the TV is done and  the page of the remote displayed (or shortly before it appears), the application is closing

Please try it out and let me know if this is solving your problem.

There are many webOS LG TV Models, with different webOS versions and in different countries using different channels. There are lot of efforts put in testing but unfortunally some specific scenarios like this one are not always easy to spot.

Please don't hesitate to contact me by email for support, specially if the fix is not solving your issue.

New Update V2.2 - Brings the channel list !

** update ** some users reported that the application was not behaving correctly after the update, ex closing just after connection, if you are in this case please first try to reboot the tv, the phone, if this still does not work please reinstall the application (after desinstallaing it), if this still doesnt work, please contact me at syldevfr@gmail.com

From the reports it seems to be due by the reply of some TVs when asking the list of channels, i can provide another update but i will need more information. This is why your help is required, please dont hesitate to contact me if you are having this issue.

The latest version v2.2 available on the Store (or in few hours for some countries) is adding the channel list feature. Jumping quickly to the wanted programs requires now 2 clicks!

A new button => . is now present in the center of the main screen.
Just click on it, and if your TV supports it, it will show a list of the available channels.
You can directly jump to one of them by clicking on its name.

A new option is also available in order to order the channels by names rather than numbers.

Don't hesitate to comment on this new feature !
